Supply Chain Review for Nutrition commodities in Sudan workshop





Yesterday 3rd Feb I attend on behalf of Supply Chain Team, at Alsalam Rotana ‘’ Supply Chain Review for Nutrition commodities in Sudan workshop ‘’ prepared by Federal Ministry of Health and National Nutrition Programme NNP in Collaborate with UNICEF.



Avery comprehensive study and report done by ‘’hera’’ company that provide a platform for desiccation and debate.


The aim of this workshop is to find solution and improve the system of supply chain to reach half millions of children who need Nutrition supply.


The main problem that addressed by the participants, focused on warehousing and transportation, in terms of capacity of storage facilities and storage condition plus lack of employee’s capacity building and low warehouse management capacity at the health facility.




Transportation challenging puts a huge cost on nutrition commodities as well.







The main outcomes and recommendations are:
  • ·      To maintain the system for the short time and implement a new effective for the long term
  • ·      Provide training for all supply chain employees  
  • ·      RE-habitation and reorganise warehouses conditions to meet the standard level, and build a new warehouse, long term.
  • ·      Implement standard operation procedure SOP and trained the worker on how to use it properly.
  • ·      Collaborate with UN agencies, INGOs and other body to implement nutrition Programme to meet beneficiaries needs.
  • ·      Community advocacy campaign to show the important of nutrition programme activities and volunteer support for distribution the commodities.
  • ·      Recommendation to classify RUTF as pharmaceutical products and need special storage condition.
